How to Commemorate the Life of a Deceased Loved One

Kathryn shares how she’s kept the memories alive of a loved one who’s passed away in her latest column for The Ethel magazine from AARP. She writes, “As a means of healing our grief over loss, we turn to the positive ways we can celebrate and remember grandparents, parents, siblings, friends and spouses. In my own case, it’s a former spouse who, despite divorce, remained a cherished presence in my life until the day he died.” She goes on to describe the loving and warm relationship she shared with her ex-husband, Ben Martin, after an amicable divorce. The closeness lasted a lifetime, and beyond. She continues to describe how she picked up the pieces of one of his unfinished projects and found it was it therapeutic for the grief.
